MISSION
To aid in the rescue of abused, neglected, abandoned, physically impaired, unadoptable animals, including equine, feline and canine and to provide a place where these animals can live out their lives free from abuse and neglect.
To provide an alternative to the slaughterhouse and auctions where equine end up when they are deemed "no longer useful". To provide an alternative to the mass extermination of feline and canine animals that no longer "suit" someones lifestyle. Provide temporary facilities for pets whose owners can no longer care for them either on a permanent or temporary basis. If these pets are deemed adoptable, BMWAS will work with other humane societies in the placement of these animals into suitable homes. If unadoptable, we will make room as available.
Provide education to the public on responsible ownership of pets in their care and options available when they are no longer able to care for them.
Work with other shelters and sanctuaries in need of tempporary placement of their rescue animals. Work with social service organizations in the placement of animals whose ownerss are in need of temporary care for their pets. GOALS
Obtain funding to purchase a permanent home for BMWAS. Parcels from 800 acres to 2500 acres are available and would provide permanent housing for equine, feline and canine while affording the wildlife in the area a refuge safe from encrochingurban development.
Some of the wildlife indigenous to the area include deer, elk, antelope, black bear, red fox, mountain lions, bobcats, hawks, owls and other aviary. This land would assure them of a permanent home.
Eventually we hope to see an elimination of the need for any sanctuary through the education of the publilc on the care and responsibility one incurs when bringing an animal into their household.

Our newest equine resident, Task Tiego, (left), grazing with his new friend Halloh Handsome. Tash was donated to the sanctuary to help with clearing the forests of downed trees that are used for fences and saw dust at the sanctuary. However, his primary job has been to be a companion to Halloh who is 35 years old this year.

Miss Molly Mule checking out the bird feeder Magic stands guard. Molly and Magic were one of the first 3 residents of the sanctuary. She was no longer able to work at a theraputic riding school and was retired here.
