Welcome to Big Mountain Wildlife and Animal Sanctuary, Inc.
a 501(c)3 nonprofit

This section features some of our residents.  As new ones enter the sanctuary they will be featured on this page.  Some are shy about being put on the website but with some prodding they might change their minds.  An extra treat is a good inducement.  These residents are here for life.  Due to abuse, neglect, physical impairments, their owners no longer being able to care for them, or they are to old to go anywhere else, they find a permanent home at BMWAS.

Tera was brought to us at 5yrs. old.  She was attacked at 2 days old by a coyote.  No care was given to her and therefore she is unrideable and basically lame.  She  is now 9 years old and goes from being Tera the terrible to Tera the teriffic.

Although he is lame. Billy  feels he can live out a pleasant life here with all of his new found friends.  It beats the slaughter house destination that awaited him.

Our sweet resident barn cats.  Casper, Samantha, Joey, Mr. Snow, and Peaches.  Not shown Lovely Lou and Sabrina.  Mama cat and her six kittens were brought to the Sanctuary in July 2004.  Her kittens were 3 days old.  She was living in an old building site and was tucked away in the insulation.  They help us keep the rodants away.

Cody, a German Shepard/Rottwiler, came to the Sanctuary in August of 2005  from a shelter in another state.  They had to find a permanent home at a sanctuary or put him down.  He loves his new home, so much space to roam.  He also loves his handlier and best friend.  Prbably because she is the one who feeds him, grooms him and hugs and pets him.
